people have this negative paranoia regarding these negative reviews, my friend booked it on flipkart billion sale and got it yesterday
the movement he take it out open the camera app and finds that the camera pictures were blur.. so he calls me and tells me the phone is faulty, i guide him through the setting(simple/advance) but to no avail... then i remember that silver film on camera and tells him to remove that film ,call him some names and i hungup the phone( how careless can one be).
today he calls me telling whatsapp contact are not showing so i guide him along on the phone and were able to solve the problem.
the thing is this kind of thing any average joe can fix but they this think that they cant and they need the help of greater mind(me) is a little annoying. just a little problem you start writing a 1 star review. he has used karbonn a9+ for 1.5 years previously if you want to know .

[my recommending experience with mi3]
another friend of mine who i gave my mi3 to has his screen broken after just a couple months, though he didnt said anything to me as he knows how hard it was for me to get that mi3 and later he was able to get a free screen replacement but still. other are not that understanding they said i bought him a bad phone and i should never recommend any other xiaomi(chinese) phone and it s not gorilla glass and i am afraid i have to agree it is xiaomi's fault as when my friends moto g screen cracked  the screen still works 5500 is still a lot of money, till now he use it with that crack.
if you know about moto x screen issue(same as mi3) moto gave replacement though not in india but one ofmy friends friend was able to get replacement( i dont know how) and i think xiaomi should provide solution for this.
[for those who didnt like mi3/1s and calling it chinese]
what this fools dont know is even samsung uses chinese component for some phone and micromax and karbonn... dont get me started on this brand it will take me days to write it. i would love to sue karbonn if i could(3 months 3 replacement still the phone doesnt work).

I gifted a Redmi 1S a month back to my uncle, who was looking to buy a new budget Android phone. To be honest he doesn't appreciate it. He does a lot of voice calls both over GSM and 2G data, which is causing a lot of battery drain. He has to charge the phone twice during a normal day. After two weeks of usage and constant complaints, he brought the phone to me and asked me to optimize the battery usage. I updated the phone to v43 and did every tweak possible without rooting the phone as I didn't want to mess with the OTA updates. It would have been a different matter if he knew about rooting, ROMs and recoveries. He didn't complain about the phone afterwards, but I have a feeling he still is not completely satisfied with the 1S.

One of my friends owns a Moto E, which he flaunted and praised whenever the opportunity presented himself. He prides himself to be quite a tech-savvy geek, and praised the stock AOSP interface, the guaranteed updates, the "superb"processor, the 1 GB RAM and the "budget-friendly value for money" package with great vigor.
The following is an account of a conversation I had with him over the phone, during which I informed him about my purchase -
Him: So you bought a new phone? Which one?
Me: The Redmi 1S.
Him: The Redmi 1S? Which brand?
Me: Xiomi.
Him: Xiomi? What in the world is that?
Me: A new Chinese player in the Indian smartphone market.
Him: How much did it cost you?
Me: Rs 6,000
Him: Specifications?
Me: 4.7 inch screen, 1.6 Ghz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 1 GB Ra....
Him: WHAT??? THAT'S ABSURD! IT CAN'T POSSIBLY HAVE THOSE SPECIFICATIONS FOR RS 6000!
Me: But I'm afraid it does.
Him: Then it's evident that it's a jaaali (a slang in our mothertongue for "not genuine") phone, if it's offering such specifications at that price. And at the end of the day, it's Chinese. While mine's not - it's genuine Google. (He hasn't been informed that Google long sold Motorola to Lenovo which, ironically, is as Chinese as it gets.)
Me: Perhaps. Remind me again - what's the PPI of your screen?
Him: Around 216 PPI! The screen's so clear. I watched a Blueray movie yesterday, and it was such a great experience!
Me: 312 PPI here. (You may have guessed by now that I was facing hell trying to stifle my laughter.)
Him: Then I'm sure mine's more than yours!
Me: Sure. (Not really) Well, I flashed Cyanogenmod 11 on the device, and I'm very satisfied with it.
Him: Cyanogenmod WAS AVAILABLE for it?
Me: Within weeks of it being released, yes.
Him: Jaali phone bhai (jaali meaning "not genuine", "bhai" meaning brother").
Me: Sure, but Google the phone nevertheless.
Of course, the conversation was way funnier in our mothertongue, but I suppose you get the flavor. Poor soul.

When i recommend Redmi 1s (or when i show) it to them, some know it it already and surprised that i have one already, when i gave them examples of HD games working smoothly ecuase most of my friends are also gamers, they are having deep thoughts if they want o buy since it only cost 5,599php here in the Philippines. I'm glad they also love it and they also love the improvement of MIUI (some of them are using MIUI rom in non MI devices)

i have been using it sor 1.5 months now..i recommended redmi 1s to a friend and he said that its a chinese phone...then when he bought it on my recommendation he actually loves it...i mean people are happy with chinese samsung but they just hate xiaomi coz its chinese co...i mean how much dumb shit can people think of..

I'm using 1s and feels very satisfied with it. Seriously. I'm never recommend it to anyone but almost everybody who tried out my Redmi 1s are amazed with it's UI smoothness and image quality.   My girlfriend who just buy a new Zenfone 5 already planned to have a Xiaomi for her next phone after trying out my 1s. I've owned a ASUS Fonepad 7 which bear almost same spec with this 1s but it can never challenge this 1s in terms of it's performance and satisfaction! If I'm were asked if I ever recommend this phone or not, my answer is YES. Totally YES

The same things happened to me too. I think that some of my friends act so dumb saying things like-1) Mi3 is so cheap (cost wise) aa compared to Nexus or Samsung flagship, so i tell them that its a plus point for xiaomi right, but they say that its a Chinese product hence not reliable, durable, and all that crap. This really freaks me out. First of all i am guiding everyone to one of the best phones ever made, but now the plus point (cost) becomes a negative for them. I think that these people just don't want to buy Xiaomi's offering and they find different excuses to ignore, henve from that day i have stopped recommending to everyone unless they themselves ask me for an opinion. Really wish people would think reasonably and stop wasting their money on high end costly phones of Rs.25-40K

Bought 12 Redmi1s for my friends Including me ;) all are very Satisfied expect my other Samsung friend he bought Samsung Galaxy Neo it's cost nearly 15k with low spec compare than My Redmi 1s :P

I am working in private organisation. I am the first guy who got Redmi 1s. Every body surprised to see the phone quality and performance. About 25 people asked how to buy this phone. Thanks to one billion day sales .I had ordered 25 phones from different IDs on same day.
Surprising fact is that my Redmi 1s having some heating problem and all other phone which I ordered do not have any heating issues.

Yeah I faced this problem too.
I recommend thses phones  to a ot of friends and got it for a lot of them. They lkeep complaining baout small issues as if it is because of a bad company phone. Then they say i bought htem a cheap chineese phone.
Seriously I have seen more hangs on samsung devices. If whatsapp craswhes, its the phone. If the hpone lags a little cause you switched to a game from a 10 tab UC browser, then its because the phone is a chineese manufacturer.

First of all, I was a WP user. I love using my Lumia 520. As i am studying, i don't get huge bucks to buy high end devices. i waited for some moderate devices with less cost, finally i found L520. After heavy usage of L520, MI Sensation came around in India when Mi3 came. I was impressed with d specs and price, but i don't have enough bucks. After Mi3, Then came d Redmi 1s. I was the first person to get Redmi 1s in my college, and i shared my experience with lots of positive aspects regarding Redmi and motivated my fellow members to buy this. And via Flipkart i ordered three Redmi 1s devices for my friends, And they are very happy with Redmi 1s. Love you Redmi :)
